The Early Years
The most important thing to remember when you start home schooling is no to recreate school in your home. A home is meant to be a place that is safe, comforting and peaceful. You do not need to adhere to a schedule. Life is a constant state of learning. The atmosphere you create in your home school is an invitation to learn and develop curiosities.
“Education is an atmosphere, a discipline a life.”
-Charlotte Mason
Remember that no home school is alike. You just need to find what style suits you and your family the best. Only you know what is best for your child. What kind of curriculum suits them best and what is true to you family values. It may look very different from what other families are doing, and that’s perfectly natural. It’s not a competition or a race. Embrace your own uniqueness!
“From the day you became a parent, you also became a teacher, and you are equipped to teach your child,”
-Anne Campbell
Your child will thrive like wildflowers because you have cared for and nurtured them in a wonderful environment. No one will tend to your child they way you do. Even when days are rough, you still love them the most!
